Examination Policies

TMI practices stringent policies that not only help maintain the sanctity and credibility of its internationally renowned examinations but also ensure that a just, affirmative, healthy, objective and empathetic approach is pursued, evaluating applicants' fitness for the award of its prestigious credentials. Following are some of the most important policy areas for examinees to make note of:

Examination Reappear Policy

In the event that examinees fail their first attempt to pass their TMI Certification examination, they shall be required to pay a nominal fee of USD 50 from their myTMI account, to reappear for the exam. Please note that the examinee can apply to reappear right after their examination result gets published.

Examination Reapply Policy

If an examinee voluntarily cancels the scheduled examination appointment, they can immediately reapply from the myTMI dashboard by paying a nominal fee of USD 50.

Examinee Conduct Policy

TMI has a zero-tolerance policy for misconduct or adoption of unfair means during exams, and TMI exam managers (proctors) are duly empowered for taking stringent punitive action on examinees found indulging in any of the following acts:

  1. Causing disturbance to other examinees through making noise, needless physical movements or verbal arguments with proctors or co-examinees
  2. Giving or taking any assistance to or from anybody inside the exam room or outside
  3. Using barred items/ gadgets like digital assistants, notes, books, wristwatch calculators, electronic dictionaries, or other aids/devices
  4. Using barred electronic communication devices, such as mobile phones, pagers or cordless handsets etc.
  5. Trying to delete or remove or tear-off or smear or corrupt any part of the print or digital exam pack or question paper or answer sheets
  6. Trying to game or tamper with the exam-computer with the objective of deriving unfair advantage or for sabotaging an exam event
  7. Trying to forcibly relocate from their allotted computer/systems despite the exam proctors' instructions
  8. Trying to copy, remove or delete questions (in any format) during the exam
  9. Not following the proctors' instructions
  10. Sharing the content of the exam with others

Please be informed that stringent action will be taken against examinees found violating or breaching TMI's intellectual property rights laws through unauthorized copying or distribution of exam content or materials.

Any communication – be it verbal, written, or electronic – made by an examinee, which can be deemed to be against TMI exam policies is strictly prohibited, and if made, will invite stringent penal action.

c. In case of No Show

Examinees missing a scheduled exam because of emergencies should directly contact TMI to report the matter. The following reasons for missing out on, or not showing up for a scheduled TMI certification examination have been defined as acceptably genuine and justified for grant of Retake permissions if requested:

  • If examinees themselves or any of their immediate family members meet with a serious accident, or develop a sudden medical condition demanding serious attention
  • If examinees have been unfortunately affected by Covid infections, or are under quarantine, or are facing immobility due to Covid-related restrictions or disruptions.
  • If there is a bereavement in the family
  • If examinees are summoned by courts, or are drafted on juries, or are required for some urgent national duty

Examinees forced to miss out on their scheduled TMI exam for any of the above-mentioned reasons are required to contact TMI and request a Retake by submitting doctor’s or hospital certificates etc as proofs of the emergency encountered.

Please note that the certification fee is non-refundable. However, if the case is not listed under our ‘no show’ policy, an additional fee of USD 50 will be charged to reapply. The examination can be scheduled from the myTMI dashboard after 14 days from the date of missing the appointment.
