  • How did you decide to become GTML certified?

    I was interested in pursuing a career in talent management , obtaining a Global Talent Management Leadership certification provided a number of benefits. It demonstrated to employers and colleagues that I have a comprehensive understanding of talent management practices, strategies, and trends on a global scale. This certification also helped me to advance my career, expand my professional network. Ultimately, the decision to pursue this certification was based on my career goals and aspirations.

  • What were the most interesting aspects of the GTML learning journey?

    The most interesting aspect of the Global Talent Management Leadership learning journey was the opportunity to gain exposure to diverse perspectives, practices, and cultures in the field of talent management. This helped me to develop a more nuanced understanding of talent management on a global scale and acquire skills and knowledge that can be applied across different contexts and settings. Additionally, the chance to engage with experts and fellow professionals in the field lead to valuable networking opportunities and facilitate the exchange of ideas and best practices.

  • Please share some insights into your approach to preparing for the GTML exam.

    To prepare for the Global Talent Management Leadership exam, here are some insights that were very useful to me and i am sure it will help others as well:

    1. Review the exam objectives: The exam objectives outline the key concepts, skills, and knowledge areas that will be covered on the exam. Reviewing these objectives can help you to identify areas where you may need to focus your study efforts.
    2. Study and review relevant materials: This may include textbooks, articles, case studies, and other resources that cover the various aspects of talent management on a global scale.
    3. Practice with sample questions: Practice questions can help you to become familiar with the exam format, types of questions, and timing. Utilize the sample tests attempts provided by TMI
    4. Engage with peers/ colleagues, discuss your learning and ask for help: Discussing and sharing insights with peers or colleagues who are hands on with some topics you are learning can provide valuable support and help you to gain new perspectives.
    5. Consider taking a preparation tests: There are many preparatory test available in myTMI dashboard that can help you to prepare for the exam. These tests may provide structured a structured overview of exam questions and expert guidance.
    6. Take care of yourself: Preparing for an exam can be stressful, so it's important to take care of your physical and mental well-being. Make sure to get enough rest, exercise, and eat healthy foods to ensure that you are in the best condition possible to take the exam.
  • Would you like to give some advice to young HR professionals who want to take up a talent management role?

    Here are some advices my mentor Dr. Derick Jackson would always share with me and i would love to share them with my young HR professionals who are considering to take up a talent management role:

    1. Develop a deep understanding of the business: In order to effectively manage talent, it is important to understand the business strategy, goals, and objectives. This can help you to identify the skills, knowledge, and experience that will be required to achieve those objectives.
    2. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders: Talent management involves working closely with managers, employees, and other stakeholders to identify talent needs, develop talent strategies, and ensure that the organization has the right people in the right roles at the right time. Building strong relationships with these stakeholders can help to facilitate effective collaboration and communication.
    3. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices: Talent management is a constantly evolving field, so it is important to stay current with emerging trends and best practices. This can help you to identify new opportunities and develop innovative talent management solutions.
    4. Develop strong communication and interpersonal skills: Talent management involves working with people at all levels of the organization, so it is important to have strong communication and interpersonal skills. This can help you to build trust, resolve conflicts, and facilitate effective collaboration.
    5. Seek out mentorship and professional development opportunities: Finding a mentor or seeking out professional development opportunities can help you to develop new skills, gain new perspectives, and advance your career in talent management.
    6. Embrace a continuous learning mindset: Talent management is a dynamic field, so it is important to embrace a continuous learning mindset. This means being open
  • How has your GTML credential and the applied knowledge helped you in your career and personal growth? How does it help you in remaining competitive?

    Earning a Talent Management Leadership credential helped me in my career by:

    1. Enhanced my credibility: In the societies we live in earning a credential demonstrates that you have acquired a high level of knowledge and expertise. GTML enhanced my credibility with employers, colleagues, and clients.
    2. Improved my job prospects: GTML helped me to stand out to potential employers and increased my chances of being hired for positions in talent management leadership.
    3. Increased my earning potential: GTML credential demonstrated to employers that I have specialized skills and knowledge, which may lead to higher salaries and better job offers.
    4. Expanded my professional network: Earning a GTML credential opened a way for loads of opportunities to connect with other professionals in the field of talent management leadership, which helped me to expand my professional network and lead to new career opportunities.
    5. Stay up-to-date on industry trends: GTML credential required ongoing professional development, which contributed me to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in talent management & leadership.
  • What are, in your opinion, the essential characteristics of a Talent Leader?

    1. Strategic thinker: A talent leader must be able to think strategically and understand how talent management fits into the overall business strategy.
    2. Strong communicator: A talent leader must be an effective communicator and be able to articulate talent management strategies, plans, and initiatives to all levels of the organization.
    3. Excellent coach and mentor: A talent leader should be able to provide coaching and mentoring to employees to help them develop their skills and reach their full potential.
    4. Collaborative: A talent leader should be collaborative and able to work effectively with other departments, managers, and employees. They should be able to build relationships and work towards common goals.
    5. Data-driven: A talent leader should be able to use data to make informed decisions about talent management initiatives.
    6. Innovative: A talent leader should be innovative and able to think outside the box when it comes to talent management.
